1. About these terms

These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") are an electronic record under the Information Technology Act, 2000 and form a binding agreement between you and Readjoo Technologies ("Readjoo", "we", "us", "our"), which operates the Readjoo mobile applications and the website at readjoo.com (together, the "Platform").

By downloading the app, creating an account, or making a booking, you confirm that you have read, understood and accepted these Terms, our Privacy Policy and our Refund & Cancellation Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.

2. What Readjoo does

Readjoo is an online marketplace that connects students and other individuals ("Users") with providers of study and accommodation space ("Owners"), specifically:

Library study seats booked by day, week or month, in a chosen shift; and
Hostel and PG beds booked by the month.

Readjoo is an intermediary. We do not own, operate, manage or control the listed properties. The contract for the use of a seat or bed is between you and the Owner. Readjoo facilitates discovery, booking, payment collection and support, and charges Owners a commission for that service.

3. Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 18 years old, or 16 years or older with the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian who accepts these Terms on your behalf.
Accounts are created and verified using your mobile number and a one-time password (OTP). You are responsible for keeping access to that number secure.
You must provide accurate information. Providing false identity or contact details is grounds for suspension.
One person may hold one account. Accounts are personal and may not be sold or transferred.

4. Bookings

A booking is confirmed only when payment succeeds and you receive a confirmation in the app with a booking ID. A reservation held during checkout is not a confirmed booking.
Listings show the price, shift or room type, amenities, house rules and any deposit. Please read these before paying.
Availability is live but can change. If an Owner cannot honour a confirmed booking, you receive a full refund under clause 4 of the Refund & Cancellation Policy.
Bookings are personal to you. You may not sublet, resell or transfer a seat or bed to another person.
You must carry a valid government-issued photo ID for verification at the property when required.

5. Payments and pricing

All prices are in Indian Rupees (INR) and include the Owner's charge for the period booked. Applicable taxes, where charged, are shown separately at checkout.
Payments are processed by a third-party payment gateway that is PCI-DSS compliant. Readjoo does not store your full card number, CVV, UPI PIN or net-banking credentials.
Accepted methods include UPI, debit cards, credit cards, net banking and supported wallets.
Readjoo does not levy a separate booking or convenience fee on Users. Owners pay Readjoo a commission of 15% of the booking value, deducted before payout.
If an amount is debited without a booking confirmation, it is reversed automatically by the payment processor, ordinarily within 5–7 working days.
Any security deposit is the Owner's charge, held and refunded under the Owner's terms as described in our refund policy.

6. Cancellations and refunds

Cancellation windows, refund percentages and timelines are set out in full in our Refund & Cancellation Policy, which forms part of these Terms. Refunds are always made to the original payment method, in INR.

7. Your obligations

When using a property booked through Readjoo, you agree to:

Follow the property's house rules, timings, and safety instructions;
Use the seat, bed and common facilities with reasonable care and pay for damage you cause;
Not use the premises for any unlawful purpose, and not carry prohibited or hazardous items;
Respect other users' need for quiet in study areas;
Not misuse the Platform — including scraping, reverse engineering, automated booking, fraudulent payments, fake reviews, or attempts to bypass Readjoo to transact off-platform after being introduced through it.

8. Terms for property owners

Owners must be legally entitled to offer the premises, and must complete identity and address verification (KYC) before a listing goes live.
Listing information, photographs, pricing and availability must be accurate and kept current. Misrepresentation is grounds for delisting.
Owners must honour confirmed bookings at the advertised price and conditions.
Readjoo deducts a 15% commission on confirmed, paid bookings and settles the balance to the Owner's registered bank account, subject to the payout schedule and any refunds or chargebacks reversed against the booking.
Owners are responsible for statutory compliance relating to their premises, including licences, safety, fire norms and applicable taxes.
Owners indemnify Readjoo against claims arising from the condition of the premises or their dealings with Users.

9. Content, ratings and reviews

You may post reviews, ratings and photographs. By doing so you grant Readjoo a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to host, display and use that content in connection with the Platform. Content must be your own, truthful, and free of abusive, obscene, defamatory or unlawful material. We may remove content that breaches these Terms or applicable law.

10. Intellectual property

The Readjoo name, logo, applications, website design, text, graphics and software are owned by or licensed to Readjoo Technologies and are protected by Indian and international intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute or create derivative works from them without our written permission.

11. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The Platform is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation.
Readjoo verifies Owners and inspects listings through field agents, but does not guarantee the condition, safety, legality or suitability of any property. You should inspect a property before committing to a long stay.
Readjoo is not liable for the acts or omissions of Owners or other Users, for loss or theft of your personal belongings at a property, or for injury occurring on the premises.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Readjoo's total liability arising out of or in connection with a booking is limited to the amount you paid to Readjoo for that booking.
We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, including loss of study time, opportunity or profits.
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under Indian law, including under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.

12. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate your account, with notice where practicable, if you breach these Terms, use the Platform fraudulently, or expose Readjoo, Owners or other Users to legal or safety risk. You may close your account at any time from the app; closure does not affect bookings already made or amounts already due.

13. Events beyond our control

Neither party is liable for failure to perform caused by events beyond reasonable control, including natural disasters, epidemics, civil unrest, strikes, government orders, power failures or failures of banking or telecommunication networks.

14. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Subject to any right you have as a consumer to approach a consumer forum where you reside, the courts at our registered office location shall have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes arising from these Terms.

15. Changes to these Terms

We may amend these Terms. Material changes will be notified in the app or by email at least 7 days before they take effect. Continuing to use the Platform after that date means you accept the revised Terms. The version applicable to a booking is the one in force when the booking was made.
